| 一羣弱智人士家長於1986年組織成立家長小組，跟進弱智服務的需求，至1987年正成立香港弱智人士家長聯會，繼續關注弱智人士服務及福利發展。聯會於1995年在南山邨成立毅行者社區教育中心，致力推廣社區教育，促進公眾人士對弱智的認識。 | In 1986, a group of parents joined forces to follow up the demand of services for people with mental handicap. In 1987, The Hong Kong Joint Council of Parents of the Mentally Handicapped was established to concern and pursue welfare and services for people with mental handicap. The Council set up the Trailwalker Community Education Centre in Nam Shan Estate to promote public understanding towards mental handicap in 1995. | ||
