「華光樂社」成立於1986年，直至1992年7月因會務增加及得到一羣熱心義務人士的支持下，正式成立華光得因堂有限公司，致力為失明人士推廣服務，並於1999年改名為華光協助失明人之友會有限公司，服務失明人士及長者。

This is an association, providing services for the blind and blind elders. ”Wah Kwong’s Music Club” was established in 1986. Until July 1992, the services have better developed with the help and support from a group of enthusiastic volunteers, “Wah Kwong Tak Yan Tong Ltd” was set up. The association was renamed as Wah Kwong’s Association Helping The Blind People Limited in 1999.

香港視網膜病變協會成立於1995年，原名「香港視網膜色素病變人士協會」，是依據香港《公司條例》第32章和《稅務條例》第88條註冊成立的非牟利病人互助慈善團體。作為全球華人社會的首個視網膜病患者組織，協會致力推動各地華裔患者對抗疾病，擔當華人社群和西方國同類組織的中介角色。

Retina Hong Kong, formerly know as “Hong Kong Retinitis Pigmentosa Society”, is first and at the moment the only organization of the kind among Chinese communities around the world. It is registered as a non-profit making organization under Chapter 32 of Companies Ordinance and is granted with tax exemption under Section 88 of Inland Revenue Ordinance. As the first concerned organization in Chinese community, the self help group aims to bridge between people with inherited retinal degenerative diseases in Hong Kong, the Mainland and other Chinese communities all over the world.

Background

一羣眼角膜病患者及其家屬在接受治療的日子裡，感受到病人互相關懷的重要性而於1996年創立威爾斯親王醫院眼角膜關懷協會，並於1999年註冊為香港眼角膜關懷協會，聯繫各公及私立醫院的病人，藉此互相分享及扶持。

A group of corneal patients formed Cornea Concern Group of Prince of Wales Hospital in 1996. The group was established through experience sharing to help patients and relatives to face their corneal diseases, corneal transplant and related psychological / social problems more positively. In 1999, it was registered as a non-profit making organization and named Hong Kong Cornea Concern Association in order to expand service for all corneal patients in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Blind Union was established in 1964. It is the first organization run by people with visually impairment. The Union aims at promoting the spirit of self-help and mutual-help among people with visual impairment, advocating the concept of equality, opportunities and independence with a view to bring about the social integration.
